Understanding Instead of Blame

Blaming has no positive effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason and arguments. That is my experience. No blame, no reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you understand, and you show that you understand, you can love, and the situation will change.– Thich Nhat Hanh

Before engaging in an argument, we need to ask ourselves: “Do I want to be right or happy?” Unless we are dealing with a legal matter, Being attached to being right in an argument does not contribute to our growth or the enjoyment of life.

We all perceive the world through our mental filters. Seeking to understand with an open heart or detaching from the need to be right, helps to avoid wasting time and energy with ego drama.
